I know. It's how I felt about Bard - and I had thirteen years with him. He was with me through the very worst times in my life - and got to enjoy some of the best times too. There were nights he was the only thing keeping me from feeling like a hollow speck in an empty darkness. My cats are so much more than just 'pets' - they are family.
