Lazy dayz

Ok, so – happy times.  I’ve completed all but one sleeve for Kaylee’s Sweater and it’s looking rather cute if I do say so myself.

Of course, how could it not look cute when you have help like this? Seriously. I haven’t convinced her that she needs opposable thumbs to help me knit. So, she flops in my lap, huffs, puffs, bats, swats and otherwise makes her opinion known about which deserves more attention.

She, for those who haven’t been reading long, is a wire haired chihuahua that was abandoned and found starved near to death with a horrible bought of pneumonia in full swing when she was found on the side of Braker (a very busy road here in Austin).  At best guess she was a little under one year of age when she was rescued.  She’s very healthy and vibrant and just full of spunk.

But, her help has to be why this is looking so downright adorable. Here’s what I have so far – pray the last bit goes as well as the rest has. I got more done at the LSSK meetup tonight than I did at home; but, I’m happy with my progress – even as slow as it is.

By the way, I managed to snag a photo of my best friend and his wife when they were up in town a few weeks ago – say hello.  G and K are just an amazing couple and I love them dearly.  G is the brother I never had.  He and I talk nearly every day and about nearly any subject under the sun.  And, his wife – when she walks into a room it’s like she drags a bit of sunshine with her.  She’s just one of those people that radiate goodness and happiness and joie de vivre.  G is very much the same.  Just being around them makes the world seem a better place; and, I am so happy I met them!

of Hyper-V and NPIV needs to be shot.  In a very painful, long time healing, not quite lethal way.

On a brighter note, I joined up with Lion Brand’s Crochet Along, today and really do look forward to the project.  I’d post a link, but it’s to a site that requires a login and I despise links like that myself – so, if you want it post a comment or contact me and I’ll give you the information.

Kaylee’s sweater is coming along – the first sleeve is about halfway done.

Dancing tonight, so no progress will be made; but, tomorrow should see a good bit of work accomplished.

Kaylee’s Sweater Update

Tuesday, August 26th, 2008

I’ll take a photo when I get home tonight. I keep forgetting.

Kaylee’s sweater now has a hood and the button has been attached. Two, little sleeves to go and it will be finished. It’s so adorable! I’m still concerned that it’s going to be way, way too big for her – but, we’ll see. I’m going to make up a few blocks and sew them together as a “wubby” for her as well.

Then it’s just a matter of figuring out what the heck to get/make for everyone else. I’m really, really hoping to be able to make it home for Christmas again this year. Finances and work willing, I will. Finances being the main concern. Isn’t it always? But, last year with my family was so wonderful – I really don’t want to miss it this year if I can avoid it.

For those of you who haven’t seen before, this is my amazingly spectacular family:
