Little bit o’ this, little bit o’ that

So, I went up to GCS last night to dance – I’m making myself do this, no matter what excuses I come up with. I love to dance; but, I’m the queen of figuring out how to stay home once I get there.

It was ladies’ night, so of course the women significantly out numbered the men. Plus, all the regular dance partners were around. When I’m going up by myself, and am making myself known to a new, established group, this means I do a lot of sitting around. However, I did get to dance a fair bit and really enjoyed myself.

Chatter

Wednesday, July 16th, 2008

So, you’ll see a little chat box in the right hand side bar – there’s a small window next to Digsby (the little green dude) and a guest name.

You can click on the guest name and delete it and give yourself your own name, or just leave it as guest.

Then, just click in the little chat bubble next to Digsby and type away. No installation on your part is required at all.

You are now chatting with me via Digsby – a great little all in one tool that lets me IM, manage all my email accounts as well as my MySpace, Facebook and other networking accounts.

If you use email and MySpace and want a great place to manage all of them concurrently – or if you are like me and use one of every IM type, several email accounts and a couple of networking accounts – Digsby really can’t be beat.

I can’t rave enough about this.  Soon as they add Skype, I’ll be darn near in heaven…and if they’d tweak the ability to have a totally black widget without losing the lower bubble…but, overall, my whines are more feature requests than anything.  I’m like a kid in a candy shop with this thing, right now.

Tasty stuff

I love unexpected, pleasant surprises.

I was sitting at work, yesterday, contemplating what I could eat that was good for me and quick so I could make it to the Knitting Nest by a time that was reasonably close to 5pm. Then suddenly my phone rings. I see the area code and nearly don’t answer.

Yeah, I’m one of those who doesn’t answer if I don’t recognize the number. But, a rare mood struck me and I picked up the phone. It was a friend from Florida who I had told to call if they were ever in town. Since they travel a lot for work, it’s not as unlikely as it might seem.

Uchis logoSeems he was in town for the evening and wanted to know if I wanted dinner. It wasn’t exactly a super easy decision; but, it wasn’t too hard either. It had been a while since I’d seen my knitting friends; however, friends from out of town for one night kinda trumps those who are here regular-like. Dinner it was…and he made the mistake of letting me choose where. Off we went to Uchi.
